Who attends the Princes Day Care Centre?
The Princes Centre provides day care for older people in the Risborough area and younger people with special needs. The centre takes a personalised approach and in the first instance will discuss with the individual their own needs and what they would like to gain from attending the Princes Centre. It also allows the staff to gain an understanding of the amount and type of support the person might need to ensure they can have the most positive experience at the centre. The person is then encouraged to visit the centre to see for themselves the activities on offer.
Depending on the type and level of support a person requires, a plan is made outlining what they would require, or personal care requirements. This plan will also include a risk assessment, outlining any possible risks that may arise in their attendance at the centre and what action would be needed to minimise these risks. The centre takes a planned goal setting approach and each individual is encouraged to discuss and agree what their individual goals might be. This could be as simple as getting out of the house and meeting people for an older isolated person, or more complex targets, such as learning the skills needed to leave home and live independently for a person with learning disabilities. The staff at the Princes Centre work proactively to help clients work towards their personal goals.
Planning to help you make the most of life
At the Princes Centre the team take a personal interest in the wellbeing of it’s guests. Our team will listen carefully to your requirements and the needs of the individual to provide for them the most fulfilling and inspiring experience. Highly trained staff at the Centre are able to assess how much and what kind of support your loved ones might need and what kind of activities they would enjoy and benefit from. A plan is then developed to map out any risk assessment required and how to ensure the safety and well being of each person depending on their circumstances and physical capabilities.
The team will set goals to encourage each individual to discuss their needs and plan out their progress be it simply a matter of a person who has been isolated in their own homes making new friends. Or to achieve more complex objectives in helping a person with disabilities to develop the skills they need to maintain their independence and quality of life. We would always encourage potential guests to ‘come and see for themselves’ what the Princes Centre is all about and we are happy to arrange a ‘trial’ session so you can see exactly how the team can provide the support your loved one needs to feel safe, secure, happy and engaged.
